As previously mentioned, people who work online and make a living from websites need access to information fast. Some of the most popular addons and toolbars for Firefox and Internet Explorer were based around website information – instant gratification for website owners.

The SEO toolbar extension from Seomator.com is the first working PR checker that we’ve seen in recent weeks. It inobtrusively sites in the bottom left hand side of your Chrome browser, and not only gives you access to PR but other statistics as well. Here’s the full rundown:

Pagerank (PR)
Displays the Google pagerank of the page you are currently browsing. When you switch between tabs it automatically updates itself, and does it quickly so that you don’t have a heart attack if you notice your website has lost its PR!

Alexa Rank (AR)
The Chrome SEO toolbar also displays Alexa rank, a good gauge of the activity of a website and a powerful statistic for online marketers and webmasters.

Yahoo Backlinks (YBL)
This is one great bit of information – the SEO toolbar for Chrome also includes information about the number of backlinks that Yahoo site explorer has registered for the page that you are currently looking at.

DMOZ
It will let you know whether the site is listed in the powerful DMOZ index.

This is not all. The SEO toolbar will also install a small button in the top right of your browser. When you click on it, you will see a large list of extremely useful websites that you can access directly, with reference to the page you are looking at. These includes Compete.com, Alexa, Google Trends, Whois.cc – you can even view tweets from Twitter which mention the page. Great!

The one drawback to this whole package is that you need to register your email address on their website to download the extension. It’s not a dealbreaker, however, especially because the product itself is so useful.
